What to eat
Dishoom–This is some of the best Indian food I have had. The only downside is the line that you will most likely have to wait in if want to go. I got lucky and only waited about 20 minutes, but others tell me that it can be an hour wait. That being said, it was absolutely delicious!
Plum and Spilt Milk–This is the restaurant inside of the Great Northern Hotel and it was delightful. I spent Valentine’s Day traveling for work, so I treated myself to a nice dinner and a cocktail. While totally worth it, it is a bit on the pricier end so I recommend this for a romantic night out.
YeoTown Kitchen–This was such a neat place! When you walk in you feel like you have been transported back to Santa Cruz, CA. Once you have ordered your food, you can head downstairs for a meditation session while you wait.
How to relax
Glow Bar–If I could design heaven, it would look a lot like Glow Bar. When you walk in, it is a super cute cafe with a menu full of adaptogenic lattes. I got the golden milk latte while I waited for my infrared sauna appointment. That’s right–Glow Bar has a full infrared sauna experience downstairs below the cafe. It was an oasis from the hustle and bustle of London.
Where to stay
Great Northern Hotel–I stayed at the GNH at the beginning and the end of my work trip to London because it was that dreamy. I wish I could live there. It is right next to Kings Cross and it has all the amenities to make you feel like you live on a cloud. Being very jetlagged, I appreciated the motorized blackout curtains that I could draw with the push of a button. Plus, they have a kitchen at the end of every hallway with an espresso machine, a fresh cake every day, and the daily newspapers. Did I mention it’s dreamy?
